A life apart from Jesus lacks fruit because we cannot bear fruit without first being connected to the Vine, which is Jesus. When we humble ourselves to acknowledge that we need God in everything we do, that is when God is truly exalted in our lives. We are nothing without God and can do nothing without Him!
